Plans for the Future

The discussion groups at the workshop began making plans to initiate the following programs and activities during the 2002-2003 academic year:

  • expand the Student Composition Contest and encourage more student participation in the 2003 Technology Workshop and New Music Festival
  • arrange for "circuit rider" composer to visit sister institutions to lecture and give masterclasses
  • to explore the idea of creating four-day travel opportunities for students to allow them to go to rehearsals and performances of operas, ballets, and symphonies in major cultural centers
  • to explore the idea of establishing a sound-editing workshop for faculty and students in the summer of 2003
