email | website

James Romig (b. 1971) has been composing and performing music since age five. In the tradition of his musical mentors, Charles Wuorinen and Milton Babbitt, his music celebrates dramatic balance, exuberant virtuosity, and rigorous formal integrity. He has taught at Bucknell and Rutgers, and is currently on the faculty at Western Illinois University. Romig also serves as music director and principal conductor of The Society for Chromatic Art, a contemporary-music ensemble based in New York City.
