My BSC Tree Identification Key is nearly complete. The key is done but I have not been able to take all of the pictures and get them loaded on my machine. It can be accessed via my webpage at http://panther.bsc.edu/~wshew/. Click on Tree Identification Key.
The Key was created using Pagemill 3.0 and the photographs were taken using a Kodak DC 210. Once completed I will put the key on a CD-ROM as well as leaving it on my webpage.
I will be expanding it as new trees are added to the campus and I will use it in class as an aid to students learning names of the local tree flora. I will also be adding family names after each species and will be providing links to information about that family of plants. This will be part of the use in my class because I will have the students producing webpages about the various plant families that can then be linked to the key. These webpages would not have to be burned into the CD-ROM since individuals with internet access should be able to access them from the CD via the links embedded.
