This project was to develop examples of audio interactive materials which would serve as a basis for an audio component for the existing computerized French grammar review, the NlightN project, developped here and now available on the Web. The following has been accomplished:

• After looking at various sound recording packages, I chose Sound Forge. A brief introduction and link to that product can be found in the demonstration, reached by the link below.
• I wrote and recorded a variety of exercise formats which respond to various pedagogical stradegies.
• These examples are presented along with a guided "pedagogical tour" of the project. You will see both explanations as well as how and why these materials are relevant. You will also see how the example exercises function, as you will also be taking the part of a student who would be actually using them

What an exciting project this has been! I recall a recent conversation with some of my collegues at which time I said that this particular step in the NlightN project generated an excitement much like we experienced during our very first steps when we began to realize the immense potential of computerized language instruction.
