The Russian Mosaic Project
(aka: "Everything You Wanted to Know about Russia but were Afraid to Ask"
or "A Byte of Russia")

Purpose
The goal of this 1-2 hour collaborative course is to give a significant dip into Russian culture and language that would expose students to said culture and increase enrollments in Russian. A 2-hour credit (with paper) trip to Russia will follow the course. The program could also be part of a Language Across the Curriculum program. Culture, history, art, literature, folklore, and music would be the basis for units, with a language component (alphabet, phrases, comparison with English) running through the course. The course will be launched in the spring of 2003.
