Fall IT Staff Retreat

October 16-19, 2003

ACS held its fifth meeting for information technology staff, October 16-19, 2003 at the ACS Technology Center. Participants in the retreat met in two separate groups—User Support and Networking/Systems Support—to report on IT issues at their home campuses, follow up on the previous year’s meeting, and discussed new issues and solutions. IT personnel from all member ACS institutions were invited.

Topics for the User Support session included residential networking, student workers in IT, support tracking, wireless technology, and effective practices in instructional technology.

Topics for the Networking/Systems session included security, disaster recovery, LDAP, and wireless networking.

As in past meetings, there was time for brainstorming, learning from colleagues at similar institutions and informal discussion.
