                                NEWS

1.  ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS 04-05 FACULTY FELLOWS

Environmental Programs Faculty Fellows have been appointed for 2004-2005. Fellows are the glue that holds Environmental Programs together: they are our information disseminators, motivators, idea persons, liaisons between and among campuses, interns, supervisors, and cheerleaders for the environment on each ACS campus.  To view names of the fellows on your campus, please go to http://www.colleges.org/database/group_search.php?group=63.

----------
2. NEW ENVIRONMENTAL ALLIANCE DIRECTORS APPOINTED

Two new Environmental Programs alliance directors have been appointed. Alliance directors, along with alliance members, determine how and to whom environmental grants will be awarded.  They also help organize and recruit attendees for ACS conferences and workshops.  David Anderson, economics professor at Centre College, will take the reins on the Student Development and Engagement alliance now that Helen Downes has left to attend graduate school. Members of the SDE Alliance can be found at
http://www.colleges.org/database/group_search.php?group=48. Lee Lines, environmental studies professor at Rollins College, will step in to co-direct the Curriculum and Faculty Development alliance along with Barry Allen, (also of Rollins), who will be on sabbatical this year. To see members of the CFD Alliance, please go to http://www.colleges.org/database/group_search.php?group=23. Jeanne Jackson, leadership director at Birmingham-Southern College, and Roald Hazelhoff, Southern Environmental Center director, also of BSC, will continue to co-direct the Campus as Lab for Sustainability alliance. Members of the CLS Alliance can be found at http://www.colleges.org/database/group_search.php?group=24. For more information about the alliances, please contact Elizabeth MacNabb (emacnabb@colleges.org) or see our website at www.colleges.org/~enviro.
