Participants would receive instruction on the use of Flash and 3-D Studio Max. We would also introduce the Maya software package (a high end 3-D application), providing participants with one day to learn the basics and get a taste of more advanced features. If there is sufficient interest, the training would probably take place in July, 2003 at the University of Richmond. If you would be interested in attending such a workshop, please contact Suzanne Bonefas, bonefas@colleges.org. -------- The ACS Information Fluency Journal Project, Transformations: Liberal Arts in the Digital Age, debuted March 15. This new electronic journal explores the social, political and economic impact of digital information technology. The journal can be accessed at http://www.colleges.org/transformations/. We encourage all ACS members to read articles by ACS colleagues and others and to join the online discussion. -------- Faculty and fans of modern languages and cultures are invited to view the newly completed REALIA Project prototype at http://www.realiaproject.org and complete the on-line survey. The survey deadline has been extended to April 20, 2003. -------- A Green Teaching Symposium was hosted March 28-30 by Furman University and attended by 54 faculty members and five students, representing 15 ACS institutions as well as Clemson University and the School for Field Studies. Please check these out for wonderful pictures and stories shared by our campuses about their many environmental project activities. -------- ACS Environmental Programs will restructure in 2003-2004. Three alliances (Curriculum and Faculty Development, Student Development and Engagement, and Campus as Lab for Sustainability) will offer grants for projects formerly covered by six alliances in 2001-2003. Faculty Fellows and Student Interns will continue to lead the way raising green consciousness on their campuses and acting as liaisons for our many environmental activities.
