Curriculum and Faculty Development Alliance
In 1997, ACS received a grant from the V. Kann Rasmussen Foundation to develop new environmental initiatives in the areas of curriculum, research, service, and operations. In 2001, ACS received a new grant from VKRF to enhance and refine environmental awareness both within and beyond the campuses of our 16 institutions. The focus of the new initiative was a series of Alliances - networks of committed institutions and individuals - that conduct innovative programs in major environmental areas. Between 2001 and 2003, the Alliances were: Student Development and Engagement, Curriculum and Faculty Development, Campus/Community Partnerships, Campus as a Laboratory for Sustainability, Sustainable Development in the Global Community, and Spirituality and Sustainability. In 2004, ACS was awarded support by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to create new - and to continue existing - programs through spring of 2008. Under this grant, we streamlined our Alliances to the first three listed above.
